Spinal and postural care covers the assessment and treatment of neck pain, mid back pain, and low back pain, as well as the postural imbalances that often cause or contribute to them. With 80% of adults experiencing low back pain at some point in their lives, it’s one of the most common reasons people seek physiotherapy — and one of the most treatable.
Poor posture, muscular imbalance, and weakness in the core muscles are among the most frequent causes of spinal pain. With modern life increasingly desk-based, the body is spending longer in positions it wasn’t designed to hold and pain is often the result.
The spine is a complex structure with multiple roles it allows movement through its many joints, provides attachment for the spinal muscles, and protects the spinal nerves and blood vessels. When any part of this system is under stress, pain follows.
One of the most common culprits is sustained posture, sitting at a desk, looking at a screen, or driving for long periods. The body doesn’t cope well with being held in any one position for too long, and over time this creates muscular imbalance, where some muscles become tight and overworked while others weaken. Without the core strength to support the spine properly, pain becomes almost inevitable.
Postural problems often develop gradually and go unnoticed until they’ve already caused a problem which is why early assessment and correction makes such a difference.
Spinal pain can feel overwhelming, but in the vast majority of cases it responds very well to physiotherapy. We don’t just treat the pain, we look at the whole picture: your posture, your movement patterns, your core strength, and the demands of your daily life.
We combine clinical expertise with hands-on treatment and targeted exercise to address the root cause rather than just the symptoms. Whether you’ve had back pain for years or it’s come on suddenly, your treatment plan will be built around you.
